McAllister Industrial Park.
PRESS RELEASE
SAINT JOHN, N.B., Nov. 13, 2025
Knapper Cantre, a Quebec-based sports developer and operator, has finalized an agreement to purchase land in McAllister Industrial Park for the construction of Atlantic Canada's first custom ball hockey facility.
The planned facility will feature a 120-by-60-foot, four-on-four specialized playing surface, complemented by amenities including a licensed lounge. An additional outdoor surface is also planned to optimize play during non-winter seasons.
This development marks a significant milestone for Saint John, introducing privately funded recreational infrastructure to the community. The project is expected to enhance the city's longstanding tradition of ball hockey participation and provide a venue for next-level play.
Ian MacKinnon, General Manager of Saint John Industrial Parks, highlighted the city's rich history in the sport. "Saint John has a long history of ball hockey participation. The city has been home to many championship teams over the years and remains a highly enjoyed sport in the province. The Knapper facility is going to really open the sport up to next-level play with its custom surfaces and unique offering. We are pleased to have had the opportunity to partner with the Knapper team. They will be a tremendous addition to our community."
The McAllister Industrial Park, one of Atlantic Canada's most established industrial hubs, offers strong infrastructure and multimodal transport access, making it an ideal location for such developments.
